News Image News Image Adidas has announced plans to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of unsold Yeezy stock to the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). This decision comes after the company's decision to sever ties with Kanye West due to his offensive remarks regarding the Jewish community and disinformation about George Floyd's death. Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden emphasized the importance of resolving inventory issues while positively impacting communities and combating hate. Jonathan A. Greenblatt, ADL CEO, praised Adidas for its leadership in addressing antisemitism and supporting educational initiatives.

The initiative reflects Adidas's commitment to diversity, inclusion, and mutual respect, as the company seeks to transform a challenging situation into a meaningful contribution for social change. Adidas ended its partnership with Kanye West and ceased production of Yeezy-branded products following his controversial statements. In the wake of this separation, Adidas was left with substantial inventory levels, which they opted to sell and distribute part of the earnings to organizations dedicated to fighting hate and prejudice.
